The Power of the Sun in the Mediterranean House: A New Step at Antalya EXPO

A New Era of Clean Energy at Antalya EXPO

We have successfully completed the installation of a solar energy system for our "Mediterranean House" (Akdeniz Evi) project at the Antalya EXPO site. With an installed capacity of 12.6 kWp, the Mediterranean House now generates a portion of its electricity needs from the sun—its own source of clean energy.

At the Right Time, In the Right Place

Turkey will host the COP31 Climate Summit in Antalya from November 9–20, 2026. As delegations from around the globe gather to address climate change, it is a source of great pride for us to have a structure powered by renewable energy at the very site of the summit. Beyond merely discussing climate issues, it is essential to take concrete steps that serve as an example; the Mediterranean House stands as a small yet tangible demonstration of this philosophy.

What Does 12.6 kWp Mean?

kWp (kilowatt-peak) refers to the maximum power output that solar panels can produce under ideal conditions. A 12.6 kWp system falls into the category of medium-scale rooftop installations. In a city like Antalya, which enjoys abundant sunshine for most of the year, this capacity offers a significant advantage in terms of energy generation.

A Solution in Harmony with Architecture

One of the most common questions regarding solar energy systems is how the panels affect the building's appearance. At the Mediterranean House, the panels were integrated seamlessly with the tiled roof. This approach preserves the structure’s natural, warm aesthetic while transforming the roof into an energy-generating surface—proving that clean energy can be utilized without compromising on design.

Why Solar Energy? Solar energy is an inexhaustible resource that generates no greenhouse gas emissions during its operation. By producing energy at the very site where it is consumed, we ensure that power is generated as close as possible to the point of use. As the adoption of solar energy grows within public spaces, social facilities, and shared-use structures, both energy costs and environmental impact are reduced.

This Is Just the Beginning

At HS Solar Energy Systems, we do more than just install panels; we aim to be an integral part of projects that shape the future. We continue—and will continue—to develop sustainable solutions that exist in harmony with nature.
